Child Care Centres serve as a valuable resource for local mothers where you can help care for children aged 3 to 6 and help with child development. The local staff are responsible for delivering social services at the community level including nutritional supplements, vaccines etc to children below six years of age, pregnant and nursing mothers and adolescent girls. |

You will always be kept busy on this exciting and innovative project.
This volunteer programme is set against the stunning backdrop of Rajasthan’s world famous Mughal forts and palaces. Our project headquarters are based in a little village by the name of kanwar Pura, 5 kilometres away from the town of Sikar, in Northern Rajasthan. It is 115 kilometres north west of the state capital, Jaipur. Also known as the Pink City and 300 kilometres south west of the National Capital Delhi. Sikar is a District headquarters where a number of government offices, hospitals, schools, colleges and fascinating markets exist. The town is well connected with major cities by train and road. The programme operates in the surrounding area of Kanwa Pura in several villages and in Sikar itself.

Volunteers assist the local child care workers at various child care centres in and around Sikar. You will be involved with nursery and infant care with children of 3 to 6 years of age. You will have the opportunity to help the children develop through drawing, painting, songs and dance and other modes of creative learning. Depending on your level of previous experience you may also be asked to help with basic medical care or educating local mothers or lend a hand motivating local families to send their children to the centre which enables them to spend more time creating a better life for themselves. As well as playing with the children and having fun you will be expected to help out at mealtimes and change nappies etc! The main aim is to create a healthy and joyful environment at the centre to nurture happy children. It Is a lot of hard work for volunteers, but it is enormous fun and the rewards are huge.
