Ecuador

Ecuador

A multicultural nation rich in history, culture and nature, home to Inca ruins and the beautiful Galapagos Islands.

Although Ecuador is the second smallest country in South America it certainly cannot be overlooked. Ecuador has something for everyone. Ecuador boasts world-class cultural attractions like its capital city Quito that has the prestigious status of being a UNESCO World Heritage Site. However, if you're a budding naturalist looking to walk in the footsteps of Charles Darwin you can visit the incredible Galapagos Islands or head into the Amazon rainforest for an unforgettable jungle trek. Ecuador's natural attractions also include pristine beaches and the world's highest active volcano, Cotopaxi.

A trip to Ecuador would not be complete without a visit to the Galapagos Islands. Famed for their diverse flora and fauna, including the world famous Galapagos marine iguana and the giant turtles that visit these islands, the Galapagos are a must-see.

It's not just the wildlife that’s interesting and diverse, either: the majority of the Ecuadorian population is made up of Mestizos, of mixed Spanish and indigenous Indian decent, there are also a large number of Amerindians, some Europeans and Afro-Ecuadorians. Above all, this small nation, its wildlife and its people are colourful, warm and welcoming and will combine to create an unforgettable experience.
